Tips For Increasing Your Website Ranking

Posted in Internet Marketing on 21.06.10

The question in the forefront of website building is one of how to maximize one’s rankings within the ever-changing terms of the search engines.

If your goal is to earn money from an Internet business, ranking high in the search engines is a vital component.  You will be forced to vie with your competition for higher ranking in the ever-changing world of search engine algorithms.  It’s time consuming until you build a good time management system, but it is necessary to maintain rank with potential site visitors.  With higher traffic, that’s been generated by search engines finding your keywords, your earnings will increase.

The best way to achieve a visible ranking is the creation of a site that focuses on the valuable content.  That might seem obvious, but read on!  You want your visitors to feel that they have spent their time well while they were on your site.  It has be interesting and practical, yet generate enough enthusiasm for users to spread the word about your site.  So often, website builders and marketers hastily throw a website together without thinking about efficiently delivering the content to the targeted end users.  It is those users that are really the customers of the webmasters and marketers, not you!

An extremely important ingredient to a successful website is to keep your site design simple, not necessarily basic, but easy to use.  Navigational links should be obvious and stand out.  Stay away from fancy opening pages, called splash pages, as they make your site more cumbersome for the user.  It will keep your site very user friendly, make information retrieval faster and leave a lasting impression on your visitor.  They are more like to enjoy the time that they have spent on your site, and to return to your site, if it is easy and convenient to use.  An added bonus is that a good navigation strategy assists the search engines in navigating around your website.

Your website should be energetic as it is the first representation of you that the customers will encounter.  It should accurately reflect your products and/or services.  It should have personality.  Your website needs to be updated frequently; an old date might send out a signal that your information could be out of date.  That could drive a  savvy potential customer elsewhere.  A freshened website will also help you with your search engine rankings.

Don’t forget to submit links to all of your pages, even the internal ones.  That is so important as it will help you to build your search engine page rank for all of your pages, in addition to your home page.  This also builds equity in your site in the event that you decide to sell it.

One of the services that web-hosting companies generally provide is a set of reports about the performance of your website.  You can rely solely on their information or you can contract through an additional provider.  An example of another provider is Google Analytics.  The reports should tell you who your visitors are, how they found your site, as well as where they were when they clicked on your link.  This information is very valuable in helping you to focus your efforts on what is working and to modify what isn’t working for you.

A savvy way to do search engine research is to see what your competition is doing and where they are in the rankings.  Which of your competitor’s sites are the top ranked for your keyword?  How are they using their keyword optimization?  Is their entire page optimized?  How many relevant and useful backlinks do they list?  Are they generating incoming links?

You can utilize a service such as Google Alerts to help monitor your competition.  The service will keep you apprised of what they are doing so that you can keep up with their savvy marketing techniques.

Alternative Marketing Strategies

Posted in Internet Marketing on 19.06.10

By: Tyson Bradshaw

Marketing online has become fiercely competitive. Marketers are attempting to unravel and decipher online marketing to succeed. Some argue that there should not be a distinction between traditional (off-line) marketing and online marketing. Others feel that concepts applied to mail order work well on the web, while still others argue that online marketing is a breed of its own and what works in one arena may not work in another. While some standard practices like “above” the fold, hold true in both print and online copy, it is rare that you see the printed type face on the web the same as in printed advertisements. Regardless there are traditional forms of advertising that are viable and make sense to use on the web but many marketers do not.

These undervalued marketing opportunities are not the end-all be-all but are great supplemental channels, that compliment strong online marketing campaigns.

Buyers Guides
Many print magazines offer free listings in buyers guides. Buyers guides typically have a long shelf life and are viewed as a product resource, meaning it is one of the first places consumers look when wanting to purchase an item. Often magazines will include product reviews or sponsored placement in a buyers guide. Typically the standard listing is free, but optionally vendors can increase their exposure by adding listings in additional categories for a nominal fee. Regardless the free listings are a great value and worth pursuing.

Product Reviews
The impartial overview from a credible source can spark product interest. A third party independent review of your product or service is seen as a vote of confidence. Invite publishers or even bloggers to review your product or service.

When requesting a review, it is proper net etiquette to always provide the reviewer an evaluation product free of charge. After the review, be sure to thank the reviewer and if appropriate, link to the completed review.

Forums/Volunteering in Communities
Offering your time and expertise will establish expertise and knowledge in a specific industry. Participants who participate in forums have a genuine interest and are a great target audience. Posting helpful information rather than blatant product advertisements will enhance an image.

Article Syndication
Writing quality informative and educational articles will also establish expertise. Articles also educate users about related product or service. Generally educated users require less technical help and are an easier sale because they understand how the people or service will help them.

RSS Feeds
Provide content in an RSS feed. While RSS is becoming very popular there are still a number of industries and sectors where very little content is available via RSS feeds. Placing quality content in an RSS feed and being “early to market” will help your company shine.

When small businesses compete with big businesses there are a number of areas in which they can compete effectively. As more businesses turn to the web as an advertising model, it is important that marketers and businesses define themselves by giving themselves every opportunity to be found. Utilizing undervalued marketing opportunities will separate online successes from failures.

Understanding Email Marketing

Posted in Marketing on 16.06.10

By: Aaron Goldberg

The Internet allows email marketers an opportunity like no other. This is the opportunity to reach out to millions of people in a matter of seconds. The response rate on marketing emails is quite high when opt-in email addresses are used. Despite the simplicity of email marketing there are some basics you will need to understand to ensure that you are going about the process in the best way possible.

There are certainly some amazing benefits to email marketing so take your time to understand it. Then, in no time you will be able to reach out to large numbers of people by hitting the send button and literally fill your inbox with orders and your bank account with money. The following are a few of the benefits of email marketing as well as how you should use this method to benefit you.

Fast One of the most amazing aspects of email marketing is that it is fast to send out the emails and then the response to the emails is just as fast. It is quite possible to send out your first marketing email and within minutes have orders in your inbox. There is no other method of marketing your product that is as fast and amazing as email marketing when it is used correctly.

Affordable In general, advertising is expensive. However, when you are using email marketing you will find that you won’t need to spend much money at all. All you really need is a computer, Internet connection, and a little bit of time to write an email to market your products and services. Basically, sending an email is free although you do have to pay for other things to be able to do so.

Testing Marketing emails will need to be tested. That is part of email marketing, or any kind of marketing really. With email marketing you will be able to test various emails much faster simply because the entire process is sped up. Give it a try and you will be able to make marketing decisions quickly and easily thanks to the web!

Responses With direct marketing you may have to wait days, weeks, or even months for the response you are looking for. With email marketing you can have your first response within minutes of sending out an email. That’s amazing and what email marketing is all about. Individuals receive marketing emails and then they make a decision. They will either delete the email without ever reading it, read it and delete it, or read it and make a purchase. Those who make a purchase will forward the email to their friends and family members if they were happy with their purchase. That’s why it’s so important to please your customers!

Publishing a blog for money or pleasure

Posted in Internet Marketing on 05.02.10

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people are blogging for money. Yeah that is part of it, because everyone wants to make a few quid, but really I write for the love of writing.

Sometimes I find myself writing about a load of crap and other times I’m writing about something I find really interesting. Like many other people I have paid 1000′s of dollars to be educated on the industry of Internet marketing, but to be honest, I learnt maybe 1 or 2 things that added to my structure and everything else came from experience.

I have wasted so much money on courses which haven’t really taught me anything new and that is the danger of this business. All the information you require on the net for internet marketing is freely available. You just need to read up on the subject. There is good and totally free advice out there.

My experience in Internet Marketing has taken me from one side of the internet to the other and still; I am learning on a daily basis.

What I do find important though, is that you need to have backlinks. They aren’t as easy to acquire as some people make out. So what is the next best thing? Ha hah, this is something I just stumbled on whilst reading up on a subject. Make your own sites using dedicated IP addresses. Link them into your main site.

Just watch that site go up the rankings. You will see an immediate improvement once your new sites have hit the search engines. It isn’t rocket science, it just takes a little time and a little effort.

Make sure you write for pleasure and not to make money. Or to be optimized for SEO….(SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION) because quite frankly is doesn’t come across as coherent information and it looks like it is specifically for the search engines. People might land on your pages, but they won’t go no further if is not what they were looking for in decent info. You will then be classed as a bad site to visit.

I like writing and I write about everything that comes to mind, even if it doesn’t make much sense when I read it. That’s when I end up doing the yucky bits like editing, just so that other people can read it. However, my success has come from writing about what I love. I hope you will write about things that you love. It will make for a much more interesting internet, instead of finding rehashed crap all over the place.

There is nothing worse than finding spammed articles or quotes or whatever you are looking for. Unfortunately, they seem to flood the market though and it is difficult to find the good stuff.

Hopefully, one day we will be rid of the black hatters out there. Maybe not in my life time, but one day they will realise that it just isn’t worth it.

Go on, go and write about something you find interesting. I would love to read it and give you a comment. NOT SPAM. Just let me know of your post and I’ll check it out. :)

See ya soon.

Article Marketing Secrets That Bring Massive Traffic To Your Websites

Posted in Uncategorized on 02.02.10

By: Mavis Nong[removed]// [removed]

There are several marketing methods you can use to drive massive traffic to your websites and one of the them is article marketing. This form of marketing is one of the most effective strategies if it is done the right way and it is free. In order to be successful with article marketing, you need to provide answers and solutions to the problems for people who are searching online for the specific information. This marketing strategy has become popular today than ever before and it takes more than just writing and posting your articles online. You want people to find your articles, read them and benefit from them.

Here are some article marketing secrets to help you:

1.Keyword Research

You need to identify your target market first, then do a keyword research and build your content around your discovered keywords so that people can find your article. This is a highly important part of the process and you need to do it properly. There are free keyword research tools out there that you can use to find out what people are actually searching for.

2.Title Relevance

Use a catchy title and make sure it matches what is in the body of your article. If your title doesn’t represent what the article is about, then you will lose your readers and your article would not be accepted by the article directories.

3.Keyword Density

This relates to how often your chosen keyword is used in your article. If you overuse it, that would be considered as SPAM.

4.Keyword Placement

You definitely want to put your keyword in your title as well as in the first couple of sentences in your article. This is what will show you in the search engine results. You also need to sparingly use your keyword in the rest of the article and in your resource box.

5.Body of Your Article

Make it interesting and appealing to the reader – use bold, italic and underline functions. Make sure your article is relevant, answers the reader’s question and provides value. The quality of your article is also important – check your grammar and spelling so that you don’t put your reader off. Subtitles, which are engaging questions or points, break the reading and give you the opportunity to grab the audience.

6.Resource Box

This is a separate box at the end of your article. This is the section where you’re allowed to promote, give call to action and put links to your websites. Don’t put too many links and confuse the reader. Most article directories allow up to 3. Hyperlink your keyword so it’s clickable and directs the reader to your website. It’s very important that you write a resource box that moves the reader to want to click through to your website. Don’t write about yourself, the reader doesn’t want to know about you, they are interested in the solutions to their problems you offer! You need to create curiosity.

7.Submission

Make sure you submit your article to the good sites that rank best on the search engines.

Choose the relevant category to match your article.

Article summary: write a unique description (1-2 sentences) which is not part of the body of your article or use something with the keyword in the middle or towards the end because that’s not going to get as much attention as the first part of the article. The first few sentences of your article will be indexed by the search engine

Tagging/keywords: don’t put too many tags/keywords – stick to an average of 5 as you want to direct your traffic the right way. You can also include keywords that you couldn’t put in the body of your article.

8.Promotion

Remember that your article will be isolated online, so it’s important to promote it properly to give it the maximum exposure. Use social bookmarking, video, your blog, Twitter, Facebook and Betternetworker. Also broadcast your article to your subscribers. Can you see the number of people who will have instant access to your content even before it gets ranked? Incredible!
