Alternative Marketing Strategies

Posted in Internet Marketing on 19.06.10

By: Tyson Bradshaw

Marketing online has become fiercely competitive. Marketers are attempting to unravel and decipher online marketing to succeed. Some argue that there should not be a distinction between traditional (off-line) marketing and online marketing. Others feel that concepts applied to mail order work well on the web, while still others argue that online marketing is a breed of its own and what works in one arena may not work in another. While some standard practices like “above” the fold, hold true in both print and online copy, it is rare that you see the printed type face on the web the same as in printed advertisements. Regardless there are traditional forms of advertising that are viable and make sense to use on the web but many marketers do not.

These undervalued marketing opportunities are not the end-all be-all but are great supplemental channels, that compliment strong online marketing campaigns.

Buyers Guides
Many print magazines offer free listings in buyers guides. Buyers guides typically have a long shelf life and are viewed as a product resource, meaning it is one of the first places consumers look when wanting to purchase an item. Often magazines will include product reviews or sponsored placement in a buyers guide. Typically the standard listing is free, but optionally vendors can increase their exposure by adding listings in additional categories for a nominal fee. Regardless the free listings are a great value and worth pursuing.

Product Reviews
The impartial overview from a credible source can spark product interest. A third party independent review of your product or service is seen as a vote of confidence. Invite publishers or even bloggers to review your product or service.

When requesting a review, it is proper net etiquette to always provide the reviewer an evaluation product free of charge. After the review, be sure to thank the reviewer and if appropriate, link to the completed review.

Forums/Volunteering in Communities
Offering your time and expertise will establish expertise and knowledge in a specific industry. Participants who participate in forums have a genuine interest and are a great target audience. Posting helpful information rather than blatant product advertisements will enhance an image.

Article Syndication
Writing quality informative and educational articles will also establish expertise. Articles also educate users about related product or service. Generally educated users require less technical help and are an easier sale because they understand how the people or service will help them.

RSS Feeds
Provide content in an RSS feed. While RSS is becoming very popular there are still a number of industries and sectors where very little content is available via RSS feeds. Placing quality content in an RSS feed and being “early to market” will help your company shine.

When small businesses compete with big businesses there are a number of areas in which they can compete effectively. As more businesses turn to the web as an advertising model, it is important that marketers and businesses define themselves by giving themselves every opportunity to be found. Utilizing undervalued marketing opportunities will separate online successes from failures.

Publishing a blog for money or pleasure

Posted in Internet Marketing on 05.02.10

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people are blogging for money. Yeah that is part of it, because everyone wants to make a few quid, but really I write for the love of writing.

Sometimes I find myself writing about a load of crap and other times I’m writing about something I find really interesting. Like many other people I have paid 1000′s of dollars to be educated on the industry of Internet marketing, but to be honest, I learnt maybe 1 or 2 things that added to my structure and everything else came from experience.

I have wasted so much money on courses which haven’t really taught me anything new and that is the danger of this business. All the information you require on the net for internet marketing is freely available. You just need to read up on the subject. There is good and totally free advice out there.

My experience in Internet Marketing has taken me from one side of the internet to the other and still; I am learning on a daily basis.

What I do find important though, is that you need to have backlinks. They aren’t as easy to acquire as some people make out. So what is the next best thing? Ha hah, this is something I just stumbled on whilst reading up on a subject. Make your own sites using dedicated IP addresses. Link them into your main site.

Just watch that site go up the rankings. You will see an immediate improvement once your new sites have hit the search engines. It isn’t rocket science, it just takes a little time and a little effort.

Make sure you write for pleasure and not to make money. Or to be optimized for SEO….(SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION) because quite frankly is doesn’t come across as coherent information and it looks like it is specifically for the search engines. People might land on your pages, but they won’t go no further if is not what they were looking for in decent info. You will then be classed as a bad site to visit.

I like writing and I write about everything that comes to mind, even if it doesn’t make much sense when I read it. That’s when I end up doing the yucky bits like editing, just so that other people can read it. However, my success has come from writing about what I love. I hope you will write about things that you love. It will make for a much more interesting internet, instead of finding rehashed crap all over the place.

There is nothing worse than finding spammed articles or quotes or whatever you are looking for. Unfortunately, they seem to flood the market though and it is difficult to find the good stuff.

Hopefully, one day we will be rid of the black hatters out there. Maybe not in my life time, but one day they will realise that it just isn’t worth it.

Go on, go and write about something you find interesting. I would love to read it and give you a comment. NOT SPAM. Just let me know of your post and I’ll check it out. :)

See ya soon.

Difference Between Affiliate Marketing and Multilevel Marketing

Posted in Marketing on 19.11.09

Author: raman verma

A quick look around will tell you that there is plenty of good information out there on topics ranging from keyword density, to outsourcing to search engine optimization, but in the world of internet marketing, you will soon discover that means no good to you at all until you can understand them! Understanding and communication are two of the cornerstones of internet marketing, and unless you can make sure that you are both getting the point across and understanding the information that you need to understand, you will find that you are going to all further and further behind.

In internet marketing, it is obvious that there is a particular language that is being used. For more details go to: www.mrx-interview.com Take some time to really think about all the terms that you hear flying around. Are you actually familiar with what these words meaning, or do you feel that you need a marketing dictionary just to keep up? Even a marketing dictionary isn’t going to be much good unless you update it frequently, and when you are thinking about a way to make sure that you are not missing out on the most important parts of the documentation out there, you will discover that there is plenty to know. Part of keeping up with trends is being well versed in what is being said and what is being used, so take some time and really consider your options.

The truth of the matter is that the world of internet marketing is one that is rife with jargon and technicalities. In many cases, you will find that the jargon even doubles back on itself, with multiple meanings for a single term. In other cases, you will find that there are many different things that will go into a single concept, and that being able to discuss them freely and clearly can do a great deal to give you the information that you need.
For help visit: www.the-forum-list.com Do you know the difference between affiliate marketing and multilevel marketing? If you do not, you may be buying into something that is not going to do what you think it does, or you might be missing out on a powerful opportunity that you would have otherwise pounced. Take some time and really think about all the good that a marketing dictionary can do for you and the services that you can provide.

In many cases, a marketing dictionary is exactly what you need to make sure that you are starting from the same place as the other internet marketing entrepreneurs out there and the lack of one can seriously hold you back. Make sure that you take the time to look up the terms that you need to know and never assume that you know what something is just by reading it and paying attention to the context. Take a little bit of extra effort and make sure that you understand what you are looking at.

To be Successful in Article Marketing One Must Produce Keyword Rich Articles!

Posted in Marketing on 30.09.09

Article marketing has produced great success for many affiliate marketers, with the ever increasing numbers of article directory websites; this has increased article marketing greatly for affiliates and their websites.

Affiliate marketers are everywhere within the internet world. It is not unusual for an affiliate to gain six figure commission checks on a monthly basis. Article marketing is free so there is no outlay needed, but the benefits are extreme.

But one problem some affiliates are faced with is the lack of knowledge in article marketing. And this is how the top affiliates produce enough leads to their various programs. To be successful in any online business an affiliate needs various leads, for more details visit to www.article-submitters.com this can be achieved by free article marketing and including a link to their particular program, that way the leads they will receive would lead to having a great chance of turning them into actual sales.

To be successful in article marketing one must produce keyword rich articles, content must be well written and unique. 500-750 words are an ideal length for an article. Also submit to numerous free article directories, for more details visit to www.writing-fast-cash.com there are thousands out there. There is also semi-automatic article submission software’s out there you can purchase to help you with your submissions; these can be great time savers!

Article marketing isn’t just for affiliates; you may have a website selling products or even an eBay shop. Article marketing is ideal for the new business to get their name out there. One of the most important items in your article is your title; make sure your keywords are all within your title, but at the same time making it catchy to the user.

One sure way of getting your article rejected by the article directories is to have spelling mistakes and poor grammar. It’s just common sense to run your article though a spell checking program before submitting to the article directories. I personally use Microsoft word which incorporates a spell checking facility. Your article should be informative to the reader and offer something of interest.

Your article should be easy to read with the correct formatting, it’s better to have lots of paragraphs than to have a huge paragraph with no breaks. The ideal paragraph would consist of two – four sentences; just like this one ;)

The most important part of your completed article is the author’s bio. This is where you’ll place your name, link to your website and description of your website. Make sure your anchor text includes your main keywords, so when the search engines crawls your article in the article directory it picks up your link with all your main keywords. It’s also advisable to include some keywords with your description.

It’s always ideal for some other person to proof read the article before submitting to the various article directories. If time is an issue, you might want to consider hiring a writer to publish some articles for you. Elance.com is a great place to hire writers but remember you get what you pay for. If you hire a writer check they have recommendations from previous article writing projects.

I hope you’ve found this article informative and helpful. Free article marketing is definitely a great way to promote an affiliate program or website.

Market Research and Marketing

Posted in Uncategorized on 30.09.09

Do you have previous marketing experience where you didn’t get the results you expected? Marketing is a very important aspect of any business. Whether your business is offline or online, effective marketing as a result of decent market research is the key to your success.

Mistake #1: Most entrepreneurs just don’t know who their customers are, not knowing who they are marketing to, and not understanding the demand and the need of their customers.

Many people that I’ve talked to, who have previous failure marketing experiences, simply didn’t understand their audiences. Some tried to put advertisements on websites that have audiences around the age of 50, when their products are for people around the age of 20. Obviously you won’t get positive results when you do that and you are just putting up “blind” advertisements – advertisements that are of no interest to the targeted audiences.

Mistake #2: Not willing to invest in marketing

There are still a lot of people who simply don’t get the importance of marketing, and how quality marketing can significantly increase the growth of their business(s). Some are willing to invest effort and cash in marketing, but they go for the cheapest marketing services. The results you receive are directly related to how much you put in. There are a lot of marketing services and opportunities out there but quality marketing will result in exponential increase in sales / leads over time.

Things to look into when managing your marketing campaign:

Understanding the age of the audiences that are suitable for your products

Understanding the marketing medium (channel) that is suitable for your marketing campaign

Understanding the variety (different types of people around the age of your audiences) of your audiences and make your marketing campaign targeted for the majority of your audiences for most effective results

Put little investment on your marketing campaign in many marketing mediums to see which ones performs the better results. Then invest more on your marketing campaign in the marketing mediums that produced the best results.
